Prop. 63 (Mental Health Services Act)

The Mental Health Services Act is designed to expand and transform California’s county mental health service systems.   It stipulates that the State Department of Mental Health (SDMH) will contract with County Mental Health Departments to develop and manage the implementation of MHSA's provisions.

Prevention & Early Intervention Planning

The intent of the Prevention & Early Intervention strategies is to engage persons prior to the development of serious mental illness or serious emotional disturbances, or, in the case of early intervention, to alleviate the need for additional mental health treatment and/or to transition to extended mental health treatment.
