2008 NAMI Walk
Saturday, May 31, 2008, Golden Gate Park, San Francisco
On May 31st, local NAMI affiliate members and their friends are conducting the fourth Bay Area-wide walk focused on mental illness. Purposes of the walk are to increase awareness of mental illness, to fight stigma, and to raise funds to support local NAMI activities and at the state and national levels. The net proceeds of the walk will be distributed among the participating NAMI affiliates in proportion to funds raised by walkers/teams supporting each affiliate.
Proceeds received by NAMI Alameda County will help pay for public education, the Family/Caregiver Advocacy & Support Program and for family support groups.
